Welcome!

I started this photo blog for a few reasons. One, I really wanted a new hobby that wouldn’t take up too much time but would provide a nice release from my schoolwork.

Secondly, I love taking and looking at photographs more than just about anything else. I would never claim to be even a decent photographer but I love the power of photographs to bring back memories and evoke emotions.

Thirdly, I’ve always liked looking at the blogs of people I know and reading their thoughts on all kinds of things. However, I’ve never really wanted to have a “text” blog, per se, of my own. Probably because every time I write down my feelings on a subject, I immediately start to deconstruct how I came to hold such a view. I’m sure this is partially due to the sociologist in me but I think it’s also just part of being a reflexive human being. Having a photo blog allows me to straddle a boundary line of sorts because I can write a few short thoughts without going into great detail, and I can let the pictures speak for themselves.

I hope you’ll enjoy looking through this site and feel free to comment on any aspect of it. Oh, and please forgive my excessive use of commas. I’m working on it.
